Meg Schmidt
My father, Martin Sheridan, attended the Grove that night. He visited with cowboy movie actor, Buck Jones, and a party of Monogram Pictures executives. My father was injured and spent 3 months in the burn unit of Massachusetts General Hospital. He was rescued by a young sailor, Howard Sotherden who was on leave in Boston that weekend. Sadly my father’s wife, Constance Misslin, age 28 died in the fire. She is pictured above in the second row from the bottom, 6 people in from the left. Buck Jones was rescued but died from smoke inhalation and burns two days later.

My great grandfather Max Gorvine died in that fire.
My family knows little about that side of the family except for this.
